By booking a class, workshop, course or private session with Hooked, Stitched and Glued, you agree to the terms below. I keep things simple, fair, and friendly – and this contract helps me give everyone a great learning experience.
1. What You Are Booking
You’re booking a place in a class taught by Karen Hubbard at Great Hale Village Hall or another advertised venue.
Each class listing tells you what we’ll cover, the level, what’s included, and what to bring.
I do my best to keep all information accurate and up to date.
2. Payment
Payment is due at the time of booking unless I’ve agreed something different with you in writing.
Your place is confirmed once payment has been received.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
3.1 If you need to cancel
I understand life happens — here’s how I keep it fair:
7+ days before your class:
You may transfer to another date for free if there is one available.
Refunds may be offered at my discretion, if I can fill the space.
Less than 7 days before your class:
I am unable to offer refunds, credits or transfers as materials and preparation have already been committed.
You’re welcome to send someone in your place.
No-shows:
No refund, credit or transfer.
3.2 If I need to cancel
If I must cancel or make a significant change (illness, low numbers, venue issues):
You will be offered:
a full refund, or
a transfer to another date, or
a credit valid for 12 months.
I am not responsible for additional costs such as travel or childcare.
4. Force Majeure (Unexpected Events)
Sometimes things happen that none of us can control — e.g., severe weather, transport strikes, illness or injury, family emergency, power cuts, building issues, or other events beyond our reasonable control.
If this affects a class:
I will contact you as soon as possible, and
Offer a transfer, credit, or refund.
I am not liable for delays, cancellations or costs caused by such events, but I will always try to find the best solution for you.
5. Age Requirements
Unless stated otherwise, classes are suitable for ages 16+.
6. Your Responsibilities
By attending a Hooked, Stitched and Glued class or workshop you agree to:
Let me know about any needs you have that I should be aware of
Follow health & safety guidance
Use tools and equipment safely
Arrive on time so we can start together
Respect other participants and the shared learning space
7. My Responsibilities
I promise to:
Create a warm, supportive, inclusive learning environment
Provide safe equipment and materials as advertised
Teach the class content fully (as far as possible depending on participant needs) and clearly
Offer expert help, tailored to your level
Make your time with me enjoyable and confidence-building
8. Learning & Project Completion
Everyone learns at their own pace. I’ll support you as much as possible within the session time, but I can’t guarantee that every project will be completed during the class.
9. Photography & Social Media
I sometimes take photos or short videos during classes for social media and marketing.
If you’d prefer not to be included, please just let me know — I’m very happy to honour that.
10. Materials, Patterns & Designs
Any patterns, notes or instructional materials provided are for your personal use only.
Please don’t share, reproduce, teach or sell them without my permission.
11. Liability
I hold full public liability insurance.
I’m not responsible for personal items brought to the venue.
Nothing in this contract limits my liability where the law says I cannot limit it.
12. Feedback & Complaints
I want you to love your experience with me.
If something isn’t right, please speak to me — I’ll do my best to put it right.
